A Glorious Sunny Day in North Devon!

A Glorious Sunny Day in North Devon!

It was a perfect glassy surf, sandy beach, blue skies day in February so we spent it digging in the sand, wading through the channels, taking it in turns to squeeze into wet wetsuits (eeeuk!) and have some time out on the waves.

It was hard to decide which was more fun - getting wet with the kids in the warming, almost paddling water on the huge beach left by the low tide; or the freedom of being in the sea itself with just a board. So much sand was worn and eaten and every layer had to be changed for a spare set!

ready to surf

Sometimes children can’t be persuaded to keep on those handy waterproof layers like wellies and all in ones, and sometimes there is a truly wonderful sense of freedom in just throwing sensibility to the wind on the beach and wading in - February seas are truly exhilarating! Just always bring a change of warm clothes.
