Bubblemakers Get Ready to Dive

Bubblemakers Get Ready to Dive

It’s never too early to get youngsters excited about the marine environment and children as young as 8 can learn to dive as Bubblemakers. Ireland has some of the best diving in Northern Europe and although too young to scuba dive just yet, Luke & Mollie are regulars at dive sites around the country.

There is a wealth of marine life in Irish costal waters plus plenty of wrecks & spectacular coastlines. The west coast of Ireland with its warm gulf stream provides some stunning diving.

The joy of watching divers ‘gear up’ and jumping or wading into the water gets plenty of comments from Luke and then the sport of watching divers ‘popping up’ out of the water begins. All weather gear means children are just as happy playing on the beach no matter the time of year while waiting for divers to reappear.

We’ve discovered that ‘rock pooling’ is a great way to get Luke & Mollie excited about marine life. They can see small fish & crustaceans in their natural habitat and get great excitement spotting something moving while splashing around just adds to the fun.

I’d love to think that Luke & Mollie are excited about underwater adventures, but it’s more likely to be the opportunity for a spot of dressing up in dive gear and getting wet!
