I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

Fantastic idea! Biscuits, otters, sharks, sea-horses and obstacles, what more could a Little Trekkers ask for?

Bubblemakers Go Back in Time

Bubblemakers Go Back in Time

A trip to the Irish National Heritage Park just outside Wexford town makes for a magical day out. Just 1 & half hours south of Dublin it brought us back a step in time over 9000 years to the Stone, Bronze, Celtic, Viking & Norman ages.

From ancient Irish dwellings, Viking boat, Norman fort to nature trails, it's a fabulous recreation of Ireland over the centuries. At times we felt we had the place totally to ourselves as the trails meander from one exhibit to another. The nature trails are super with wild flowers in abundance. There are plenty of picnic opportunities along the way, the only decision was which era to dine in! Luke & Mollie loved going in and out of the dwellings & playing 'house'.

There is a fair bit of walking & a hill up to the Norman fort, but it is suitable for a stroller. We had a combination of stroller & back packs & when little legs got tired it was handy to have the stroller for snoozes. The layout of the park is super, each recreation is separate from the other via winding pathways, so you really don't know what to expect next. There are forest dwellings, a Viking boat & house set on the estuary & the Norman fort has super coastal views. There's plenty of parking & a cafe if you don't feel like packing a picnic.

Definitely worth a visit - there are more Wexford adventures to come in the next couple of weeks!
