Bubblemakers go to the Abbey
Tintern Abbey on the Hook peninsula in Wexford is a truly gorgeous place to visit. The ruined Cistercian Abbey is set in a beautiful landscape with a stream running through a woodland forest.

The trail in the woods is almost magical and with occasional views to the ruins of the Abbey you can almost imagine fairies in a dell around a corner!
The Abbey itself is fascinating and there is also a small ruined chapel and old graveyard over the bridge at the stream. It's such a super place to play 'castles & fairies' and probably one of the highlights for Luke was pretending to be a knight. Our picnic was spent in the woods & trying to spot fairies.
There is no charge to walk around the grounds, only to enter the actual Abbey itself. The grounds are stroller friendly, although we used backpacks and little legs to explore. We had such a fun day there - highly recommended
