How Much Sand is Too Much?
In the last couple of weeks Ruby has fallen in love with her balance bike and spends much of her time glued to it. She rides next to her Daddy on his big bike and now refuses to go in the seat attached to the back of my bike. Independence up another notch!
This weekend we headed off to see family and friends back on our home turf in the North East. We spent most of our time on the local beaches, catching fish and crabs, paddling and snorkelling, playing football and burying each other in sand.
However, most fun was had making beach obstacle courses for Ruby to navigate around on her bike, and little sand ramps and hollows for her to ride on.
The only downside to what was a fabulous weekend is the volume of sand that we've brought home with us (noting in particular a trail from the car to the bath and even into Ruby's bed) and the rusting wheel-nuts on Ruby's bike. Time to dust off in preparation for our next beach trip.

Its great that Ruby is so keen. Im having the same with Summer. she no longer wants to ride on my bike always insists on taking her own. Its all fine until 100m down the track when she then decides that its faster on my bike so then i have to have Teagan attached by the trail gator, Summer on the bike seat and her bike dangling over my handle bars! At least i now know its possible to ride like that so am more than happy for summer to start out on her own.
