From Jungle Trekking to Welsh Rock Pools
Jemima's had a busy time the last few months! Starting the New Year in Singapore and Malaysia meant she had her first taste of jungle trekking, and proved she has her Mummy’s stomach for boat trips by falling fast asleep on a choppy trip in the S China Sea – bodes well for her future as a water baby!
Back home in Wales we’ve been enjoying getting out and about in all weathers. Being lucky enough to live right by the beach means we’re down exploring the sand and shoreline with our buckets and spades all through the winter – it turns out that 20 month olds like building sandcastles and digging holes even when it’s cold outside, as long as we’re all wrapped up warm! Our nearest beach is Rotherslade – perfect rock pooling territory and the site of Jemima’s first seal sighting!
The new family sized tent has had another outing to Pembrokeshire and we were lucky enough to have a week of perfect sunshine - even in March! Hiking to Barafundle Bay, exploring the Lily Ponds at Bosherton, and best of all having a day of perfect surf at amazing Newgale Beach. Mummy and Daddy long ago learnt that you can fit two surf boards in a Ford Ka, but now that there are three of us we only need the one board and take it in turns to catch some waves or do some serious sand construction with Jemima on the beach.
Gorgeous sunshine on the rock pools meant that Jemima was perfectly happy in her 2mm shorty wetsuit (still not quite grown into it from last year – think we may get another summer out of it!) splashing around and collecting (and licking) some more rocks – think we have another family Geologist in the making!
Mummy and Daddy however rather regretted not bringing the winter wetsuit booties/gloves/hoods with them – water temperature in March is NOT warm, and we were rather glad to alternate freezing in the water with running around the beach with Mima to warm up again! Jemima had to be almost literally dragged away from the beach – put to shame by the stamina of a toddler!

What an awesome little adventure bug! The amount of fascinating stuff she must have ingested in her short little life so far is just wonderful to think of.
Fabulous ... We can't wait to hear more! Well done, from all the LT Team!
I think I'm going to enjoy hearing all about Jemima's adventures - Isn't it great when Little Trekkers add to the enjoyment of being outdoors?
