I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

Lakes Charity Classic

Lakes Charity Classic

This year was the 21st year of the Lakes Charity Classic. It is a paragliding festival that has got bigger every year and this year it was on for three days. It is on the shores of Buttermere Lake. Every day they have paragliding competitions and on the Saturday night they do a large flying display.

First, this year, they had about 10 paragliders on speed wings, all taking off at the same time and doing a display on the way down. Next was a guy on a speed wing with 2 jet engines attached to his harness. This guy is the only guy in the world that does this and he came over from Germany especially for the festival and did an amazing display.

After him was a solo paraglider on a normal wing who sadly miss timed his land and ended up in the lake! Normally a lot more end up in the water but this year it was just the one.

During the evening there was a band and dancing in the tent till the early hours of the morning.
