I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

Lambing Time in Perthshire

Lambing Time in Perthshire

Finally spring is here! The best thing about spring for Eassan is the arrival of the lambs in the farm. He likes to walk the farm yard, checking on all the livestock and making sure all's well.

When one of the farmers made an off hand comment to him to keep an eye on a ewe that was about to give birth he took the responsibility to heart. We were all forced to make camp next to the pens ... for an hour in the rain!

When we've seen the lambs there is just time to check on Percy and Norman, the big bulls.

Eas was keen to tell them both about his new Spotty Otter jacket, though it was hard to gauge their reaction to this.

What a great place to be at this time of the year. According to our cow expert in the warehouse, this huge beast peering over Eassan shoulder is a Simmental. Is she correct?

Yes, well spotted ... though it's pretty hard to miss Percy, he is massive :) Eassan has no fear and likes to give him a wee pat but I'm not so sure!
