I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

Meeting Ducks and Chickens - More Allotmenteering!

This morning we went to an allotment owned by one of Mami's friends. It was amazing – it’s a large plot and I met ducks and chickens and saw how they had planted vegetables. They had made a pond for the ducks from a sandpit just like the one I want. Some broody hens had little chicks as well! Perfect, in time for Easter. Some were born on the Royal Wedding day - I suggested they were called Will and Kate.

Mami and Dadi used to have chickens in the back garden before I was born. They had Rhode Island Red chickens, Black Rocks and White Leghorns. They fostered a few needing temporary homes.

After today's visit they are considering giving up their quest for a house with land and just applying for a local council-owned allotment, but the waiting list in my area can be 5 years plus! I'll be 6 by then!!

What is your experience of allotmenteering, do you think there should be more allotments in your local area?
