I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

Not Your Usual School Trip

Not Your Usual School Trip

I’ve been on many a school trip in my life, but nothing quite like today. Today was the annual nursery school summer outing. We all met at Laveno bright and early for our short boat ride over to the park of the Villa Pallavicino on the other side of Lake Maggiore.

It’s easy to use the words breathtaking and stunning but somehow they don’t quite do the park justice. It was truly spectacular and we were really excited to find our very own waterfall after reading Fiona’s latest waterfall blog.

The waterfall at Villa Pallavicino

The toddlers had an amazing morning getting up close to all the animals and the staff were amazing.

With the animals at the park

After a sit down two-course food extravaganza (well this is Italy), we spent the afternoon roaming the beautiful grounds before heading back home.

It’s not often you get to say you’ve spent a perfect day with a large group of toddlers!

Now that is one seriously good school trip.
And I like the waterfall too - it seems to be a bit of a LT theme right now!

Wow! Toddlers on a boat! I thought Harry's nursery were brave taking them on a train! (I suspect the Northern Ireland picnic was not as classy as the Italian one though - cheese bap anyone?)

That is a fab trip Amy! I am thinking about encouraging a trip at my daughters pre school as we have a volcano right in front of us everyday so it would be a great educational trip as well as including a very exciting boat ride to start with! I must say the goat is being extremely well behaved (well for that one hundredth of a second that I can see anyway!)...the goats at the local childrens farm near us are so used to being fed they have become far too friendly and have their heads almost up your jumper the second you enter the pen which is all just a bit too much for my girls.

Well the pasta at lunch came with a choice of bunny, bambi, or wild boar sauce so that might go some way to explaining the extremely well behaved goats!!! Italy is a strange old world where horse and vegetables are a perfectly acceptable combo in a baby food jar.
