Storm Damage #1

Storm Damage #1

So, we decided to have one of those lazy Sundays … You know, the ones where you barely get out of your pjs? Just hang out in the house watching films, drinking tea and reading the papers?

Wasn’t happening for Manny and Faith – at four and one they know that Sundays are meant for the park so Graham and I eventually threw in the towel and wrapped up for a late afternoon stroll around Bellahouston Park.

Manny opted for the balance bike… Faith travelled in style on Graham’s back, wrapped up against the weather in her Christmas presents; a Spotty Otter Fleece Chillibear and some fleece-lined Spotty Otter booties. ‘Spotty Ottered to the max,’ as Graham put it. She certainly looked warm and comfy!

The evidence of the recent storms was clear. A huge, old tree lay across a path, broken near its base. Hard to imagine that wind could cause so much damage.

By the time we stopped for a cuppa at the sports centre it was dark outside and the moon was huge. Manny is a big fan of the moon and we watched it appearing and disappearing behind the clouds all the way back to the car.

And the moral of the story? Kids don’t do lazy days and I think I’ll get our tree looked at. Oh, and it’s been a long time since I stood and simply watched the moon.
