Sunny Sunday Mornings at Lake Maggiore in Italy

What is the best thing about living in a country with a tradition of eating, drinking and socialising late into the evening? At 8.30 on a Sunday morning Lake Maggiore is ours and ours alone, well apart from the odd eager duck ready to please its first visitors of the day.
Germignaga is just below popular Luino on the eastern side of the lake, but tourists rarely make the 5 minute walk. It has a great play park surrounded by green grass, picnic tables and plenty of ducks, not to mention the amazing view!
Just a little further along is a small beach and nautical themed area. In the summer jets of water come up from the ground and it’s an amazing place to cool down.
For those of you with camper vans this is also one of the few public places you can stop overnight.
Breaking News: The nesting box camera has confirmed that we have blue tits nesting in the garden! Does anyone else out there have birds nesting?
