I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

The Green Lagoon

The Green Lagoon

Delighted with the new biking arrangements it was time to give the trailgator a go. Since Teagan can ride her own bike i wanted a system that would encourage her to be independent rather than having an easy ride on mine! Therefore I opted for the trailgator as opposed to a tag along bike. The trailgator is a bar that attaches to the front of Teagan's bike and to the rear of my bike.

We chose a local beauty spot leading from Glenmore lodge along a forest track to the Green Lagoon (An Lochan Uaine). In usual Scottish fashion the weather was.....mixed, so togged up in waterproofs we headed out. Teagan was more than happy pedalling away behind me and surprisingly her power actually made a difference! Summer loves being on the seat in front and happy dings the bell as we cycle along.

cycling fun with the trailgator

I've done alot of biking with the girls and we have enjoyed every minute of it (well nearly). I always try to choose a route that has lots of points of interest for the girls, like trees to climb, streams to play in and of course a picnic at the destination.

fitting the trailgator

I think Teagan summed up why the Green Lagoon is called that: 'mummy why has someone put green paint in the water?' After a play on the beach and a picnic it was time to head back down the track. The joy of the trailgator is that it can be very easily unattached so I unhitched Teagan's bike and she was able to cycle herself back to the car.

Back home tidying up doesn’t have to be a chore. The girls were more than keen to get stuck in and clean their own bikes!

Mental note to do this when we're up there in August! How far did you cycle?
