Wow! What a treat! Well done getting such a good photo despite the excited toddler!

I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

Fantastic idea! Biscuits, otters, sharks, sea-horses and obstacles, what more could a Little Trekkers ask for?

The Gruffalo Trail

The Gruffalo Trail

We are huge fans of Moors Valley and the Gruffalo, so when we heard about the Gruffalo trail we swiftly added it to our holiday must do list. Moors Valley never disappoints.

The trail is self-led and you can pick up a card from the Visitors Centre for a nominal fee. The trail points are nicely spaced out (close enough to keep the interest of a 2½ year old) and the activities have been well thought out. I would say it is perfect for the 4-8 year old age group. Some of the challenges are a little advanced for your average toddler, but to be honest, spotting the beautifully illustrated signposts was enough to keep Arlo happy, so overall, a great activity for the whole family.

And, if the kids aren’t exhausted by the time you’re done, there’s always the play trail, the play areas, the tree top trail and the railway to wear them out!! The Gruffalo trail is running everyday until September 16th so if you are in the area, the Moors Valley is well worth a visit.

P.S. If your child loves mud as much as mine you may want to take wellington boots and a spare change of clothes if there has been heavy rain – I’ll save that tale for another blog ;-) At least the Teva sandals machine wash well!
