A Rainy Saturday in Mumbles

What to do on a rainy Saturday? Hmmmm, our initial idea was rained off, so Dadi (the driver) headed to Mumbles, Swansea for some traditional Welsh fish n chips in the rain. As we headed West, the clouds cleared and it even brightened up a bit. Mumbles is lovely - miles and miles (and miles) of a bike/walking path along the beach and you can even go as far as walk or bike to Swansea city centre.

There is a road train if you are less active! We parked down by the lifeboat station and I pulled on my fabulous Spotty Otter splashsuit and jumped into my Smart Trike for the bike back along the front. We were lucky enough to discover that on the 2nd Saturday of the month there is a local Farmer's Market with lots of fresh produce and a surprising number of cake stalls (there goes Mami's diet) and I loved the hand-painted chalkboard signs.

As the drizzle started to fall, a lot of people passing us stopped and commented on my splashsuit and Smart Trike, asking where I had managed to find such practical gear. One granny even said it was great to see children "getting out in all weathers" and not being kept indoors for fear of getting a bit wet. I find my splashsuit is really adaptable - it's been on many adventures so far, from allotments to farms to days out and it is handy to keep in the car in case of changeable weather.

It was great once as Mami forgot my shoes and we just pulled over the foot protection and I walked around in my suit! It'll be time for the next size up soon, I'd better start writing to Santa (or Sion Corn, as he is known here in Wales).
