I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

Not My Cup of Tea

Not My Cup of Tea

Even though Sirdal hasn’t got a wide range of fancy tea shops to visit on a wet Saturday like today, it does not mean we can’t enjoy a wide range of delicious fresh herb teas anytime. All we need to do is go for a little wild herb hunt in the woods at the back of our house!

All dressed up in Spotty Otter waterproofs and with a plastic bucket in his hand, Tiarnan was ready to go looking for wild strawberries leaves to make a fresh brew for the three of us. Wild strawberry leaves tea is known to be suitable for children. After about 10 minutes walk, we spotted the first set of wild strawberry plants, great, as it just started to pour rain again. We stopped and picked a handful of leaves.

Tiarnan taste tested some that went into the bucket. On the walk back to the house Tiarnan splashed, crawled and rolled in almost every puddle! The more it rained the more fun he had! The Spotty Otter waterproofs were more than up to that job! What was supposed to be a short outing, ended up to last hours. We almost forgot about the nap time!

The tea was made later in the afternoon, and when Tiarnan got a taste he burst out in laughter as if he was saying, mum, is this drink really supposed to be for me?

The punch line really made me giggle. It's amazing how much fun they have in the rain isnt it, as long as they are warm and dry they really dont care (in fact secretly I think my children love the fact the drains at Ollie's school always get blocked and water gushes out of the downpipe everytime it rains so they have a perfect water feacture to play in!)

    Tiarnan

Thank goodness for the puddles, it indeed looks like you had fun. I hope after that long day of exploring you got a little more than leaves to drink! I will have to have a chat with Mommy and Daddy if not. : )

    Love to all
