Wow! What a treat! Well done getting such a good photo despite the excited toddler!

I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

Fantastic idea! Biscuits, otters, sharks, sea-horses and obstacles, what more could a Little Trekkers ask for?

Our Favourite 'Summer' Mountain

Our Favourite 'Summer' Mountain

All Winter long we go to the mountains every weekend to enjoy the snow. Now that Summer is here (and the snow has mostly melted), we have a whole new set of mountains to play in.

Elm (www.elm.ch) is one of our favourite Summer mountains, as it offers a huge amount for kids of all ages, plus amazing views and cows wearing bells! I do love to see a cow wearing a bell, grazing on a mountainside.

There are lots of hiking trails to choose from, but the undoubted favourite is an easy 3 km loop with various wooden animals dotted along the path. The girls spend ages at each animal presenting them with pine cones and flowers they have gathered along the trail, and this sort of 'themed' trail is very common here in Switzerland. It certainly makes hiking with kids a lot of fun.

Elm is also a ski resort, but oddly enough we have never skied there; maybe next season.

What a view! All these fantastic photos are making me very jealous and really miss our white water kayinging trip to the alps we usually take around this time of year. Will have to investigate ski holidays to cheer myself up.

I have to say that even after living here for almost 9 years, the views still take my breath away.
The kids on the other hand know no different, so they tend to be less impressed!

Wow it really makes me miss those views. I was lucky enough to spend a year living in Villar, Switzerland with similar views and you never get use to it!
