Wow! What a treat! Well done getting such a good photo despite the excited toddler!

I'm with Chloe - much as I like lambs, I prefer calves and cows :-) I'm looking forward to Harry's blogpost from Balmoral.

Fantastic idea! Biscuits, otters, sharks, sea-horses and obstacles, what more could a Little Trekkers ask for?

We Need Petrol!!.........and We Found This Place!

We were out of petrol and had to head for the closest place possible. When we got there we found the garage had burnt down 2 months ago! Not helpful but we found a beautiful place instead! The lake was just so serene.

It was quite and another fabulous day and my husband began to look nervous as he spied what I was reading. A map on the Waikato river trails...one which started from here in Mangakino....... and so we were off again.

on the wobbly bridge

Mathilda after her huge ride on the Saturday took it easy and Mum did all the work. It was a great ride meeting some lovely people along the way, finding a great "wobbly bridge" as the girls call them.

lakeside view

On return to our starting place we were able to have an ice lolly at the little cafe in a bus on the lake front and girls still found the energy for more riding on their bikes and a good play on the playground. This is definitely a great little place to visit that is off the beaten track to most people who might visit New Zealand.
