When you have a new jacket, it's amazing how the water just beads and runs off the outside. This happens because of a durable water repellent treatment (DWR) that's applied at manufacture to all jackets. But dirt, oil, and normal household detergents will, over time, mask the DWR causing the outside of the jacket to absorb water (wetting out). This reduces breathability, comfort, and performance and leaves the jacket feeling cold and wet to touch.
- Will not strip natural oils from Down, unlike household detergents
- Restores loft, improving insulation
- Anti odour treatment to keep garments fresh
- Works on 30 degree washing cycles
Why We Use Grangers:
Our Little Trekkers are important to us, and we want to make sure that when they have Little Trekkers of their own, there are still beautiful places in the world left for them to explore. That is why we recommend Grangers after-care products for all of our clothing and camping gear.
Grangers is the only aftercare company to be both ISO 14001 accredited and a BluesignŽ partner, two independent reviewers who assess the impact of companies on the environment. Needless to say, accreditation with both agencies is definitely a good sign.
As well as being good for the planet, Grangers products are also excellent for your wallet - the wash-in waterproofing and cleaning agents are designed to work at 30°C; a great 40% saving on electricity! Luckily that saving doesn't have any negative impact, as Grangers came out top in both performance and durability in Trail Magazine's 2006 tests.
