Explanation of Feature List

LT Usage Rating :: We here at Little Trekkers have devised our own rating system based on what sort of role each carrier is best suited for. For a full explanation look at our ratings page.

Carrier Weight(KG) :: This is how much the carrier weighs, empty, in KG.

Max. Load(KG) :: The maximum weight that the carrier is designed to carry. This includes your child's weight and the weight of anything you've packed.

Storage Capacity (Litres) :: Like normal backpacks, this is how much equipment you can pack into your carrier.

Adult Height Range :: The height of the adult wearing the carrier which the carrier is designed to best support.

Adjustable Back Length :: Whether the harness can be modified for a more comfortable fit for the adult.

Max Child Weight(KG) :: This is the maximum child weight the carrier is designed to carry.

Sun/Shower Canopy :: Sun and shower canopies are covers designed to protect your child from the sun and light showers. They may be integrated into the carrier or detachable.

Rain Cover :: A poncho or fully enclosed style covering to protect your child from the harshest weather conditions.

Stirrups :: For older children, stirrups allow them to adjust their weight in the carrier, and prevents their legs from hanging down.

Neck Support :: A padded pillow to support older child's heads when they fall asleep. Younger children use instead the integrated front pillow area of the carrier.

Rear View Mirror :: A small hand mirror to allow the adult to check on the child without having to remove the carrier.

Suspension :: A suspension system designed to give the smoothest possible ride for the child

Changing Mat :: Denotes whether a changing mat is included with the carrier.

Detachable Storage :: A smaller pack that can be detached from the carrier so you can take your gear without having to take the full carrier with you

Anchor Point :: To keep the carrier steady when putting in or taking your child out, this is a small point where you can place your foot to keep it secure.

Free Standing :: Whether the carrier will stand upright on its own. These are not designed to be left unsupervised with a child in, however.

Collapsable Frame :: These carriers fold down flat for ease of storage and transportation.

Face Cushion :: This feature is to support the heads of very young children when they fall asleep. Older children use the neck cushion instead.
